Casa 52 is a newly renovated Colonial home in the heart of Merida’s Historic Centro. Designed and completed 2022 in collaboration with local Architect, Manuel Rodriguez :: Oriundo. With the central location and close proximity to Paseo Montejo and Calle 47, known as culinary row, whether searching for traditional Yucatecan cuisine in Parque de Santa Ana, an authentic evening concert in Parque de Santa Lucia or festivities offered in Plaza Grande; all are just within short walking distance.
With Spanish Colonial, Art Deco and Mid-Century influences the house features soaring 20+ foot beamed ceilings in the original 1st ‘crujia’ along with traditional cement 'pasta' tile floors throughout the home. Arched steel doors and windows perfectly frame the lush landscaping and pool. And a fully equipped kitchen provides a wonderful space to gather; with a grand custom island for food preparation along with modern stainless appliances; dishwasher, gas oven, cooktop and refrigerator. The vast terrace provides a beautiful spot to relax in the shade and unwind after a day exploring the city. The master bedroom suite is an elegant standalone structure in the rear of the property with pool views and a private garden on the rear including an outdoor shower. 2 queen size guest rooms with balconies, walk-in closets and bathrooms are located on the second story of the main house.
Casa 52 features thoughtfully curated furniture and artwork ranging from Mid-Century treasures and select custom pieces designed and built for the house. Adorning the walls are contemporary pieces by artists William Gaber and Santiago Olguín.The house is fully solar powered with mini split A/C units and ceiling fans in every room of the house to ensure a comfortable stay. WIFI provides high speed internet, perfect for guests who need to work during their stay. Along with a Samsung Smart TV with apps such as Amazon, Netflix, Disney+ and Hulu.
SERVICES + AMENITIES: Housekeeping/laundry are provided weekly for stays of 7 days or more and upon request for short term. Pool cleaning is prior to occupancy and weekly for long term stays. Complimentary local coffee is provided and a selection of wine + beer are available for purchase. Pool heat and outdoor BBQ are also available upon request. ** The home is mostly solar powered, there are no additional charges for electricity.
CONCIERGE: Our house manager Andrea is very knowledgeable about the Yucatan and available for hire independently as a concierge to book airport transfers, local tours and stock the house with food, provide catering etc. These services are not part of the rental fee.
